We want a SPL meter that does not have an AUTO power off! The new Radio Shack model Model:Digital 2055 powers off. The PylePro PSPL05R powers off after awhile. I checked a few Galaxy models and they appear to have this energy saving feature too BUT we just want to turn it on for our services and events and turn it off hours later and have a constant read out without having to do anything to it.

We did want the PylePro accuracy. We have a few older Radio Shack models for various auditoriums, but needed another one and wanted to move up in quality.

Suggestions?

we've got the Galaxy model and i'm not positive it doesn't auto shutoff, but i do know i came in on monday last week and it was still on from sunday.  :)

here's the one we use.

Thanks. The manual does not say it has auto turn off. Great.

The NTi XL-2 is one of the most awesome tool we have at work! I'd buy a kit myself if I was touring or full time freelance engineer. Don't need to own it as an in house technician.

Has an RTA, oscilloscope and you can display all sorts of metering at once (I usually have it showing Aeq5", Aeq10', Apk, Aslow and Cslow all at once). We have a kit that includes the MR-Pro so it's a great kit.. Rather expensive but you get what you pay for !

It does auto off when running on batteries, haven't checked if I can turn that off but it stays on when plugged in.

It can also be connected to a computer and used as "sound level predictor" for when working on a db limit.

Even on batteries this can be changed.
