Looping MP3 players ?
« on: March 15, 2013, 05:58:07 PM »

Does anyone know of an MP3 player that if you set it on to loop will still be on loop if you switch it off and on again ? or that automatically loops whatever is on it when you switch it on ? I dont mind if its a recreational player/Ipod type thing but it ideally has mains power. Anything that can record as well or costs over £100 is overkill
P.S.It must also play .wavs

On a current iPod touch or iPhone (I also believe the nano acts the same way) you create a playlist, then start playing the first song on the list... In the top left there is a loop icon, one tap loops the whole playlist, two taps will loop an individual song. This state will remain until you go back and tap the loop button again to disengage it, regardless of powering on/off or closing the music app etc.
External power is simply achieved and cost is reasonable, depending on how much storage you need the device to have for your music. I'd look at the touch screen nano for a simple cheap solution.

.wav files are also supported.

The iPod shuffle might fit the bill(I guess they still make them?) I don't know if they take .wav files or not but you can load a playlist and if you put the switch in one position it shuffles and the other it plays in a loop. The one on had couldn't take external power while in use though(but I think some models can).

What you need is a music-on-hold player. They are quite inexpensive and readily available.
