Sound bursts video conference, opposite of buffering.
« on: May 09, 2013, 09:45:27 AM »

Has anyone seen a video conference where the sound will burst and get really fast for a short period and go back to normal.

I am hearing about this and want to see if anyone has found cause and answers.

Sounds like the QoS (Quality of Service) settings on the switch and/or routers involved are not properly configured for VOIP/IP Video.  Just an educated guess based on the symptoms you describe.  How is the video quality?  Is it smooth-ish, or does it "stop and go?"

I have not seen this yet and my suppervisors are trying to get me into the VI team that is working to resolve.  I should have better info on this later in the week.  Thanks.

Not sure if I'm understanding what the symptom is, but if you are hearing a burst of noise, this could be the AEC re-converging after a microphone is un-muted. Is the audio breaking up/stuttering, or is it just a burst of noise?

I have not been given complete information from the people in regards to the problem.  Guess that they don't want my involvement.  Boss is happy with my work but cant get the other team to provide more either.  Sorry about the lack of details.  Thanks all for the look.
