what fixtures are these?
« on: February 23, 2013, 03:15:47 PM »

not my video, but I was at this concert this other day.  I didn't get a chance to ask the lighting tech afterwards what the fixtures on the stage light and right are.  they seem be emitting 3 beams of light.

Look like regular moving heads with a "triple dot" gobo.

Either a 3 dot gobo, or single dot with 3 way prism?

Looks like 3 individual beam-style fixtures sitting next to each other. Think Sharpy or Platinum Beam 5r.

thanks guys. they are 3 individual fixtures.  I was sitting near the back of the Theater that it seemed like it was one fixture but the video (other ones on youtube) do show 3 individual fixtures.

thanks for the information. at least i'm pointed in the right direction :)

Thought you were asking about the 3 beams coming from individual fixtures, hence the gobo suggestion. Obviously there are three individual fixtures in groups. Not familiar with the Sharpy, but have installed a couple of the Platinum's.

They could be (as others have suggested) sharpy's, platinum beam 5Rs, or.. one more suggestion- they could also be chauvet 230SR's.

From the fixture housing and stance I think those particular ones have the highest chance of being platinum beam 5Rs.

I just remembered...the production for their conference in January had a lot of Sparkys.  I think they are being used on this tour too...just a hunch

I don't believe that is a sharpy or a 5r.. both are TINY fixtures with a very small barrel.

These look much larger - they are probably a beam type fixture like a clay paky acl or a alpha beam.
