A couple of things that I noticed when I got my hands on them today.

the Mute/Select buttons are all more of a rubberized feel on both the producer and the compact, the faders are a bit different, (well at least the fader caps) from the x32.

there was pricing on them, but i forget exactly what each was i believe it was 2399 on the compact, and below $2000 on the producer. I will double check and post tomorrow.

Does anybody seriously think that Behringer is moving into the professional market segment?

I just don't think that I could bring myself to spec Behringer for any project that I actually cared about...Maybe if I wanted to burn a bridge and piss off the client when it starts breaking down after I'm long gone.

Pricing on these isnactually easy to remember.  Starts at 999USD for the core and goes up 500USD for each iteration.  So 1499 for the rack, 1999 for the producer, and 2499 for the compact.

Or course current street price on the full X32 is hovering at about 2400, so I think we can expect discounting on the new boxes as well once the initial wave is sold.

What's the US MAP on the X32?

Obviously things like Yamaha's DSP-5d or running an Avid Mixrack sans surface are a bit out of our budget.

Has anyone tried using one of these guys as a live mixer, rather than a sound distribution processor?

At one time there was a company in Australia working on a console that was a physical controller controlling multiple matrix DSP units.  They were working with Peavey MediaMatrix and I think maybe BSS and one or two others as well, but they seem to have abandoned that to focus on the recording/production market and the control surface as a DAW controller.

Not done it personally, Kristian, but have seen it done on touring theatrical productions.  It's been a couple of year (or more) and I don't recall which show or who the sound designer was...  but it has been done.

I remember Diana Krall was using Blu-80's to run monitors...

The beauty of a software-defined architecture, I'm guessing that it wouldn't be hard for them to do do this at all...

I for one would LOVE to see the speaker management/crossovers be added in, even if it took slots in the onboard 'FX' rack.  For smaller gigs, it would be huge.
They've been reading your mail !. This functionality was added to the matrix busses in one of the recent firmware releases.
