Are the sennheiser capsules less boomy than a 58?

I've only used the 965 capsule a couple times.  It's unlike anything else I can remember, my first impression was 'extremely smooth' sounding.  I'll have more meaningless superlatives after I use it more.

The ew300g3 has the 800 series capsules. 835, 845, 865

I have several 300-G3 units with 945's.

The EW300 series comes factory standard with the 800 series capsules. The EW500 comes with the 900 series capsules. You may be able to change them out to the 900 series. I'm not sure though.

You're right. Must have been thinking the 100 series. I know we've got a couple old ones lying around that don't show battery levels.

All of the 900 series capsules are compatible with any of the SKM100/300/500 and SKM2000 transmitters.

Here are the big differences:
-32 factory frequencies per bank instead of 24
-Built in guitar tuner
-900 series capsules available as standard with handheld systems, beltback systems include the MKE2/gold capsule instead of the ME2/ME4
- SKM500 transmitters do not have the mute button found on the SKM300 transmitters, and the SK500 lacks the remote mute switch port the SK300 has.

Other than that they are functionally and sonically identical.
