Ok, I bought a pair.  Chris Church answered my questions within 30 min of my e-mail.

He has a sale going on for the CA14's (his newest and best mics) and a battery box (to supply the phantom power) for $124.00.

The folks over here:  http://taperssection.com/

have nothing but great things to say about these microphones (even compared to >$1000.00 mics).

I was so impressed with the reviews that I ordered a set myself.  I am going to setup some recordings when they come in (5 weeks as he is backed up).  I'll post them here when I get some recordings done.  I'll also post the same song with the same eq settings directly off the board to give you an idea of how it sounds before the speakers and recorder modify the sound.

Good question OP.  I have hopes that this will give me (and perhaps others) a better sounding band.

would be nice to hear....dont forget about me. Of course in 5 weeks Ill probably forget to look.

Not enough letters to do justice to the stream of obscenities that come to mind.
