Canadian Power/Vendors
« on: October 16, 2012, 04:38:35 PM »

Hey guys.

Ive got an event coming up in Mont Tremblant Canada. I've only done gigs here in the states so I'm a little worried about power. I'm not sure what system the'yre on over there. I normally take an L14-30 (two 30a 120v circuits) and I'm not sure what the equivalent to that would be over there. If necessary I will have an electrician install the correct plug for me. Any tips on this would be great.

Also, its a long way from my shop. If I forget something I'm SOL. I was wondering if i could get some names of rental houses near Mont Tremblant (or any LABsters) just in case.

This should be a big learning experience for me! Thanks!

Canadian power is the same as US power, but if you need support, Solotech, one of the largest production companies on earth, is nearby.

To quote Steve Martin from a 30 Rock episode... "Come with me to Toronto - it's just like New York, but without all the stuff"...

He's pretty much right, and my L1430's work just great up here  :P

Mont Tremblant is 2h30 min from Montreal where Solotech is located. I will send you more details tomorrow about 2-3 local AV Cie ! Normally there is a small corporate cie in Mont-Tremblant ...

As far as power, same as in the US, CamLock, TL3, TL4 ... there is no difference.

That's good news for me. Glad I won't have to rent any transformers.

Thanks for the suggestions on rental houses. I'll definitely check out Solotech.

we use L14-20 all the time for a good chunk of our audio (we're in toronto, but can send stuff to montreal if necessary!)...

as far as companies near montreal the two I'd normally go to would be kloda focus or solotech
