Both US and German patents.  Interesting.
[quote Few people, however, know that each measurement cycle needs to be as long as the complete decay of sound in the room in order to fully describe it. SysTune┤s patented algorithms are the only ones able to perform such measurements and calculations in real time. Many other approaches either lose information or cannot be performed in real time[/quote]

Hey Doug,
I just read it could you or others explain what exactly is the process/algorithm that systune, does that are now patented and not available to other manufactures. And what are peoples comments to the lose information of other programs..

A patent for using a 2-10 second sample period (actually in claim 2).

Oh well..

The claim on multi-threading is perhaps even more absurd in this day and age.

The only novel thing I remember seeing was switching the computation engine on and off based on user-set thresholds that appeared to be volume based.  Not real exciting, but perhaps patentable.  I just scanned the patent for 5 minutes, so this isn't a totally fair assessment.

I'm glad people are inventing new techniques, but patents and patent litigation have gotten a little out of control.  Companies are getting patents just to cover their a** because some other company might get a patent on a similar process or technique.
