Hello,

First time post in the A/V Forum.  I'm looking for a confidence video monitor solution for live presentation events.  I'm envisioning a computer monitor (17" - 24") or similar in an enclosure that resembles a floor monitor wedge (audio).  Does something like this exist off the shelf, or would it be a custom job?  It needs to show nothing more than powerpoint slides. 

Any tips?

Mostly I see custom stands, but guitar stands work well if the monitors aren't too big.

What I've always done and seen done is a guitar stand to hold it back at an angle then tape duve to the back to cover the connectors and wires. It's a simple solution that many people use

A number of companies offer low profile monitor carts or stands that are commonly used for confidence monitors but if you want an actual enclosure then it would seem to potentially have to be made to fit a specific monitor and designed to address cable access and ventilation.

Hi Bill,

I'm not a fan of enclosures for confidence monitors, so I'll posit my own recommendation: Premier Mounts makes this mount system.  It's manufactured well and is flexible if you decide to use it in other capacities (you can use whatever length chrome poles you want to).  It's also pretty much an industry standard with its parts and pieces, so you're almost guaranteed to find what you need to assemble/fix it if needed.

List price is around $580, but a dealer might be able to get you a better price...

The company that I work for uses an aluminum frame stand where the screen angle can be adjusted. I do not know who makes those stands. I can look into it for you in you would like.

Da-lite, and cheif both make stands that look pretty solid and could meet your needs. An easy way to mask the stand is to use AV cart drape. Simple solution.

Either kick back legs (like on a guitar amplifier) or a guitar stand itself.  Bith solutions are invisible when you wrap the back of the Monitor in black drape.

Nice!  Here's the datasheet for it, http://www.clairsystems.com/images/SpecSheets2/12vm_5770ml03_small.pdf, looks like VGA/HD15 or HDMI input and it does have integrated ventilation.
