That is correct, MacBook wirelessly to N600, USB cable from N600 to 01V96, Ethernet cables from N600 to DSP, Sennheiser mic,.... Router lives in the rack. 

Studio Manager talks to the 01V96.  There is some extra latency compared to a hard USB connection, so the controls aren't as smooth and meters lag bit, but in my testing the lag hasn't been a problem.  This is a new setup for me and I haven''t tried it on a gig.

Unfortunately I have no experience with a PM5D,  but a 'few days' return policy on the router will be enough time to see if it works or not.  Should only take an hour or two to get it working, less if you are familiar with setting up wireless access points.

A tip: if you do install a wireless system like this password protect it AND disable the SSID broadcast feature so that iPhone/Android users at concerts don't even see your network in the list of available networks.

I disabled my n600 NETGEAR 2.4gHz radio and bought a 5gHz card for my tablet so I wasn't competing with smart phones. Of course, with the new phones we may be back in trouble.

In my day job working on business computer networks, I frequently use inSSIDer to determine the least congested channel for setting my customers' wifi. It's available for Windows, Mac, and Android.

It provides a graphical view of every wifi signal out there, both 2.4 and 5 GHz (if your wifi card supports both). I find it invaluable for avoiding the congestion that's becoming all-too-common these days.

It's a free utility. If you're really serious about designing and troubleshooting wifi networks, the makers of inSSIDer also have a lot of other cool products you can buy.

After trying to get a Linksys dual band N router to work with a Yamaha LS9, I brought it back and got the Apple Airport Express....bulletproof!
I set it to 5GHz only (so as not to have 2.4 GHz issues with bluetooths and cordless phones, etc.).
I log on at the beginning of the night and it works anywhere in the club and even outside on the patio where I sometimes make adjustments to the patio mix.
