Locked Threads
« on: March 17, 2011, 10:34:15 am »

I noted some recent threads being without any related explanation or comment, for example http://forums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/topic,1377.0.html and http://forums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/topic,1397.0.html.  The second example may have been a real name issue but if threads are going to be locked after one or two posts without offering any explanation then why not just delete the thread instead?

Warnings are sent to the OP via email and PM about their name. When they correct the name issue the thread will be unlocked. Till then it is a further signpost to others about using real names. The post will be deleted if the member signs on after the warning, but does not correct their name. If the post is the original post in a thread the whole thread will be deleted. Threads are only locked if the OP is the message with the name issue.
