M7CL- MY4-DA issue, help needed ASAP please
« on: September 11, 2012, 10:01:51 PM »

As of yet I have not received a return call from Yamaha tech support...
We sent out two MY4-DA cards out to meet an M7 that we have on the road, however installing both results in every console output squealing. Yamaha's website says that you can use two of them together without issue. Ideas?

Sound like some kind of feedback loop.  If the cards are DA and AD, make sure they are mounted in the correct slot for in/out, check the routing in the console... I'm just guessing...  (ASSming they are being used as inserts)

Tim, the 2 cards are the same, and both output cards with 4 XLR outs. If they are used as part of an insert chain with some other input there is certainly the possibility of wrong patching since all the slot outs are pre-patched to the mix busses by default (bad idea in my opinion).

Curious to hear what turned out to be the culprit!
