Remember the SUB IN on good ole' analog desks?
« on: September 20, 2012, 10:03:54 PM »

In our inventory we have the mix of analog dinosaurs up to the latest and greatest consoles. If anyone if familiar with the Midas Pro series digital consoles they should know that the Direct In exists on all outputs. Yamaha on the other hand had done away with this feature years ago. We have a few PM5D's around.

On the PM5D theres an Insert point on the STEREO busses, Could this be used to SUB IN another console by just using the return or what about a device such as the APB Mixswitch and then select which console is being used on the return?

Im not totally sure what made me ponder this idea today. It may be completely irrelevant for the lifespan of the desks but curiosity is getting the best of me.

For Yamahas use the "cascade in".  On some consoles you have to use slot inputs and don't have channel ins available.
