Wireless suggestions around $300.00-$400.00
« on: September 14, 2012, 10:25:43 AM »

Currently have a AT 702 for general purposes. Looking for something a bit better at the stated price point. Any opinions on AT2000, Line 6 V35 or V55 ? Use would be for singing, not spoken word.

The line 6's are good little mics, I have an xdv 70 and it does all that it says and has only once ever had a frequency interference problem (which was easily solved). I would go with the V55, that way you still get a 1/2 RU receiver and built in antenna distribution, also I think that its transmitter is a bit better built than the V35's.

I could be wrong....but looking at the website i don't think the V55 has the built in antenna distribution..

Your right, I just double checked the website, sorry about that, I was still thinking of the xd-v70/75, either way though it is still  very good value for the money and uses the same robust wireless protocols as its bigger siblings

The new AKG dsr70 might also be worth a look, it looks to be a step below the line 6 in terms of features and quality, but you can get a model of it with a quad receiver. Unlike the line 6, I have not had any experience with it but if you are looking for something cheap it could warrant a closer look.

Had good luck with the Senn XSW35 that came out.  Worked great in a small church I helped out with.

I use AudioTechnica 3000 wireless units for my applications (speaking, singing, etc.).  The "sound gods" may chime with their opinions but they work well for my applications.
Northern Sound and Light has good prices on them...
