So, I bought one SRX718 and I'm getting the other one this week.  The 718 is definitely the way to go.  It sounded really good with our break music(hip-hop and dance stuff) and the live band.  I did have problems with the bass drum(I didn't have much time to experiment).  The toms and my bass sounded awesome though.  I thought I wouldn't have to change much going from the stacked mrx518 setup.  Now I'm wondering if I'm going to have to rethink my power amp situation.  I didn't have time to mess with it a lot so I guess it will just take some trial and error.

I swapped my amps for the weekend on the system.  Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.  Since I only had the one srx cab I decided to bridge the IPR1600 to that, and then I used the IPR3000 in stereo for my mrx512 tops.  My tops actually sounded smoother with the stereo IPR3000 than with the bridged IPR1600.  I was barely over the continuous ratings for these speakers.  I will mention that I was tickling the limiter on the sub amp with with every kick drum hit.  The hip hop bass was super loud and low and the limiters never flickered.

Again, any help, comments, suggestions are welcome.  What can I do to make it sound better with what I got.  I don't think enough rig is the issue because the volume was perfect and I wasn't really pushing it hard.  I just need to learn more.  Please share the knowledge.

Can the IPR 1600 even be bridged?

Bridging instructions can be found all over the web.  Basically take +1 from channel a and -1 from channel b on a y cable or with a patch panel.  Peavey even warranties it if anything happens.

I'm sure it's not on purpose but don't give out half the instructions, many help seeking people read these forums and it's very important to follow ALL the steps to the letter with these amps!!! So, don't forget that you also must parallel the inputs and match the gain control on both channels otherwise you'll understand why these amps aren't specced for bridge mode!!!

It would also help to say it works only on the IPR1600/3000 and not the future coming IPR5000/7500.
