Have you heard the prx618-xlf?  It's like a vrx918 with it's wings clipped.  (It can't fly.)

I have been out of the loop on the forum for a while now so pardon if this has been covered.  Also if this needs to be in the Lab Lounge area, please let me know.

I'm looking for a powered sub, either a single 15in or single 18in, that quality-wise falls between QSC KW181 and a Danley TH115.  The KW181 may be the way to go, but I'm open to some input.  I currently have a pair of the unpowered Danley TH115s and I absolutely love them, but from time to time I need a quality powered sub.  It is used mainly for live sound but occasionally I will DJ a small party.  My budget is between $1k and $2k.  I'm not looking for any specific name brand, just a good quality powered sub.  Thanks!

Yamaha's DSR118 would fit on the budget, sound very nice and will pair with your dsr 112. Personally I have worked with them in small to medium sized venues and they do the job really well. In my opinion they sound much better than jbl prx 618 xlf, ev elx118p but no as much as the qsc kw181. I have not been able to hear a danley th115 but I use DAS St18 and st218. The ST 18 is a single 18' horn loaded speaker and the yamaha dsr118 sound very similar (the yamaha with a little more sub) in small to medium capacity places. In larger areas, the horn loaded speaker will keep the sound goin and goin. But... If you have more budget, I can assure you that choosing jbl vrx918sp will be the greatest choice.
