Vari-Lite VL3000 Recs??
« on: July 17, 2012, 03:25:54 PM »

Has anyone had any experience using these? I'm looking to purchase some and from the info(small amount) that I have gathered it seems that these are becoming more and more in demand touring acts. I have "heard" that after being on tour Martins will have more of a tendency to require service whereas the Varilite not so much.. any feedback is appreciated.

VL3000s are great lights

they tour quite well, and are definitely more desirable than 2ks or mac 3s (the equivalent martin fixtures), even weigh slightly less (by about 7lbs)

the only real downsides to them is their price tag

We use VL3000s on a regular basis and they're great lights. Honestly I have no complaints and I can't recall a time we've had a major problem with one. If you can spend the money, go for it.
