Yamaha PM5D PSU humidity mod
« on: June 17, 2012, 06:45:07 PM »

I have heard there is a mod which can be done to PM5D PSUs so they don't need to be blown out with hairdriers to enable startup when used in humid conditions. Anyone know details of this mod ?. (BTW I personally don't use PM5Ds, I'm just the tech asked to sort out a reported problem).

I have no experience with the circumstances you describe, but on a general basis I would say it may be possible to store something inside the flight case that will keep the air inside dry during transit fram warehouse to gig.  Open flightcase right before switch-on, and once the unit is running I'm guessing the heat generated inside of it will keep it running?
