JBL EON 518S vs. EV 118P
« on: September 16, 2012, 09:13:01 am »

We are a 5-piece band (2 guitars, keyboard, bass, drums).  I play rhythm guitar and sing lead, with as many of all 5 of us singing at one time.  We cover mainly 70's classical rock: Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton...  We have 2 dB Technologies Opera Live 405D tops, and are looking to add a single sub.  The tops are really amazing and we are very pleased with them.

The search has narrowed down to 2 subs: JBL EON 518S and EV 118P.  The main considerations were weight, and actually being able to get them into the front or back seat of a car.  Any recommendations here?

Thanks.

Another option that came to my mind is the RCF ART 905-AS.

I've heard good things about this sub, but I was wondering how good one of the 15" RCF subs would be compared to an 18" JBL or EV.  Also, would a 15" sub really add appreciable low range to my 15" dB Technology tops?
