600,000 people and no one gave a whoot about the sound system/ WEM.   The Who provided the system for the fest.  Jimmy Hendrix played at 2am in the morning.   There is a couple DVD's out on the fest from the Who and Jimmy.   I belive in this day and age it would be called not enough rig for the gig.  :)
This fest was right after Woodstock.   Lots of cool pics here.  Enjoy

I love how they flew the snake-and what looks like all sorts of "stuff" (shoes etc) got thrown on it.
