Provided lighting for a Benefit concert.
« on: March 26, 2012, 11:59:51 AM »

I received a call 6 hours before showtime to ask if I could provide lighting for a fundraising concert.  I had 2 1/2 hours to setup and program the lighting, all without ever hearing a note played by the band.

Stevie Ray Entertainment was proud to provide lighting services for a benefit concert for Lehighton Area Pool Pals. Featuring the local band A.D.D. (http://www.add-rock.com/)

Lighting provided included
11 Blizzard Puck Unplugged RGBA's
2 Blizzard Torrent 90 Profiles
2 Blizzard Torrent 90 Beams
36 Feet of Global Truss

Controlled by
Blizzard Eclipse Software
Blizzard Lightcaster Wireless DMX and 11 WiCicles. (closest fixture was 74ft. from my broadcast location, furthest fixture was 140ft. away)

The point was not to brag.  This was my first ever concert.  I am a DJ, they called me and asked if I could provide lighting, I obliged, and I thought I would share, so people could give me tips on what I did right, and what I did wrong.

The reason I listed the gear, is because anytime I have ever posted anything like this on any forum, is because the first question is always, what was the gear.  I understand that there are many professional LD's here.  I thought just maybe one might chime in and give some tips on how I can improve.

Thank You.

OK.  I didn't realize you were a DJ.

No problem,
Did you see the video? I fixed the link in the OP, any feedback would be appreciated.

Calm down, dick...

Way to pull it together, Steve!  Looks good for your first time and with short notice.

Calm down, dick...

Well, there was no question asked and no solicitation of opinions.  I was just wondering what reply was expected.  It was pretty vague and the lack of any  request for input kind of left it in the "looky what I did" category.

Just wondering......

Thanks Thomas,  I don't think dick, was trying to be a dick, he had a legit point, as I didn't ask for feedback.  I just copied my description from my blog, and forgot to ask for comments, feedback, and tips.  I understand why he thought it was a dick measuring contest.

I'm always interested in tech matters.  I was just looking for a question or a request for input on some specific issue.  Without that it kind of left me going, "What?  Where?"
