For more extreme conditions, a "blimp" is used to keep the windscreen foam and fur even much further from the mic diaphragm.

   Yes, absolutely, but, a blimp wll not accomodate the mic he referenced in the photo.  And, the Blimp would cost 3-5 times the cost of that MXL mic.

   If he'd need a blimp and fuzzy, he might want to buy a better mic too.

Bead of caulk around the bottom of the wind screen to seal it.  Please dont really do this I am trying to add some humor.  A good application for Polish Chrome
