Computer to video scaling
« on: March 09, 2012, 07:46:20 PM »

We have an sd flypack (with an ag mx70 at heart) typically use a scan converter to include computer in events or up convert for heavy presentation situations -- my question is dvi-d/hdmi to cv a better conversion than standard VGA to cv?

Thinking of trying a product from gefen hdmi to cv scaler.

Thanks

In either case you are downscaling to composite video and I doubt that also adding a digital-to-analog conversion would improve things.  However, if you have a computer with only DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc. digital video outputs then it may be better to handle all of the downconversion to composite video in one box.
