I started there.... It is just an operator problem.... It knows what it is doing... I don't..
Sounds like you're getting there quickly!
It's a deep board, there's a lot to learn.

You have to think of signal flow just like with an analog board, but have to visualize the routing taking the layers into account.  After you find your problem you'll be going "DOH!"

It's just too bad that Yamaha manuals seem to have been created by the advertising department.  Chapter after chapter of "gee whiz, look what we did" instead of a clearly written manual delineating how you actually accomplish all the common tasks associated with operating an audio mixing console.

Rane writes some of the best manuals, packed with appropriate and accessible information and for kickers include some nifty wiring diagrams and all with a heck of a sense of humor.

Actually, Ivan Beaver's 01v96 manual is only 47 pages and helped me get started better than the Yammie manual did.  Might be helpful to ask him for a copy of it....

What manual is this???? Where do I get it....  The o1v96i is really nothing but a VCM with the USB out to record at 96.. All the instructions I have seen so far appear to be the same.

It is a short quick start sort of manual that Ivan wrote to help get people started with the board. More clear and concise than the Yammie is.  Doesn't cover everything by any means, but it will get someone started that hasn't used one before. Ivan posts here all the time.  I don't remember how/where my copy came from.  He might have posted a link or he may have emailed me.  I don't remember. Sorry I can't tell you where to get it, other than asking him for a copy.
