Any products out there comparable to Mpro418SP ??
« on: January 31, 2012, 12:50:04 PM »

Does anyone here know of a single 18" powered sub w/ a filtered Speakon out like the JBL Mpro 418SP duel channel amp/sub that will power the mid/high cab aswell?? seems like all powered subs out there only power "themselves" not any satellite cabs... is the Mpro one of a kind??

Curiously, why are you looking for a cab like this? If you are going to replace your rig a powered sub an top would do about the same it seems...

The Electrovoice SB2A does the same trick, but is not in the same class performance-wise. It may work depending on what you want to do though.

I know Quest - a small to medium size audio company in Australia aimed at nightclub installs - makes a system with a 15" subwoofer with inbuilt auxiliary amp rated at 2x 300w@4ohm or 200w@8ohm as well as the inbuilt 600w amp for the sub...

Never used it so I can't say what is sounds like..

Some of the HK audio suff does this, and if I'm not much mistaken some Ffohn brand systems as well. Probably both more common in Europe though.

I believe the D'lite system from Dynacord will power several tops and passive subs. its about the same size as the 418.

4 amp channels lets you hang up to 4 tops and 2 additional subs on this one cabinet. It has a selectable crossover.

Seems to be aimed at the DJ market, but it's a fairly cool product. As with all other Dynacord products, we have no freaking idea how it sounds, or how much it costs....
