The only really good deal in this list is that pair of 728s, which also happen to be the best performers on the list. I've seen 728s pop up locally for around a grand at times and they always go fast, so don't hesitate if you're serious about this.

That's what I ended up with. I got lucky. The guy had a total of 4 SRX728's but was only gonna sell 2 and hang on to the other 2. I missed out on the first pair but I was ready to strike when he sold his second pair for the same price - $1,000 each. I think I did good. They are in great shape and really thump!
They will be the best fit for what you do. You're going to have to address your tops eventually (which I'm sure people are going to point out) but it's all incremental.
That's what I'm working on now. I'm looking for a pair of gently used SRX722's  ;)

I vote for the single 18"s.  They are more versitly than the SRx728s.

I have 6 SRX718s; could have went with SRX728s.

I use 1 SRX to as a base for my MRX512m when I'm running an SOS.
I use 2 or 3 SRx718s under QRx212, 2 high is decent for a small-mid room and 3 high gets the tops even high for those bigger rooms.

.... I bought a pair for $500 each...... but they ended up being the ones that I lost in a trailer theft four months previously. Too bad my dad (who actually tested them and picked them up) didn't know what I knew, as in how to identify my speakers.... and just call the cops instead of forking over $1,000 in cash.... ugh.
