Best Live Sound Mic
« on: December 05, 2011, 06:53:52 PM »

We are currently using an Art M-five at a clients stage location. Stage is average size, holds up to a 5 piece band (mostly rock or strum). They had an Audio Technica Ae2500??ish mic and hated it, yet they like the ART better but just not having that "umph" live sound. They want something that when the harmonies come out, that the mic can pick up everything including the heavy breathing. haha

any suggestions. Db's are around 100-118 on a weekend

I suggest keeping Db and his hundred plus possesions away from your ribbon microphone. If it is 118 dBSPL, turn it down, even if it is a weekend. And buy an SM58.
