3 EV ZX3 per Channel on QSC PL340
« on: November 09, 2011, 05:22:41 PM »

This should be possible and I should be able to just daisy chain the speakers using standard Speakon connectors correct?  Amp Channel A to ZX3-1 Input 1, ZX3-1 Input 2 to ZX3-2 Input 1, ZX3-2 Input 2 to ZX3-3 Input 1 and mirror that for Channel B as well.

Nominally, yes.  But what's the whole picture?  What are you trying to accomplish with this setup?  There are other potential issues......

It is just for a cheap quick and dirty do it yourself gym system.  Have a EV DC One for Processing in front of the QSC.  What other issues do you foresee?  We plan to add to it later but thats all the budget would allow for this year.

OK.  That's the location.  Now what kind of program(s) will you be running through them?

Just some music clips during timeouts and PA announcer during games.

All right.  Yes, you can do it.  I'll stop with the questions about the total package.

What amp?  The ZX3 is rated at 8 Ohms nominal and 6.2 Ohms minimum so that's 2.67 Ohms nominal and 2.067 Ohms minimum for three speakers in parallel, so the amp should be rated for full range operation at 2 Ohms per channel.
