Jordan Wolf:
I attended this seminar when it was held in Pittsburgh last year.  I think I was the only one their who paid out-of-pocket and hadn't come with a company for training, but I felt just as received as anyone else there and had a great time.  We even got to tour a number of theatres in the city (Pat, of course, taking IRs at each one).  Who knows what this years will hold?  ;)

A giant +1 for this seminar!

While Synaudcon is not inexpensive, it it not so much the price you have to look at.  It is what you get out of it that is where the value is.

Very few other places can you get so much knowledge so quickly (and not just from the information Pat gives, but the interaction between attendees).

Pat has a wonderful teaching/delivery style and encourages interaction in the class.

If you only take away a couple of really good ideas or get a better understanding of what you think you know, then it is well worth it.

All of the Synaudcon classes are highly recommended.

Yup, I agree with all of that.  I took away a lot and use that knowledge almost everyday, sometimes without knowing it.

One of the sad things in our industry is that often the people who need the training the most, are the ones who think they already know it all and won't get anything from it.
