ClearCom HS6 Repair
« on: October 26, 2011, 10:56:14 PM »

Hello all...

Would anybody happen to have any documentation/schematics for the ClearCom HS6 handset?

Have one that is not functioning on the talk side... The element in the handset checks out, so want to test the components inside...

ClearCom's website keeps giving 404 errors on any documentation I try to pull up, and I have had no luck trying to get it directly from them (called, technician out of office, no response on email)...

Thanks in Advance to anyone that can help out!

Hello Ryan;

ClearCom HS-6 Handset internal wiring;

Four contact XLR
 1 - Unbalanced mic low, shield
 2 - Unbalanced mic high
 3 - Earphone low
 4 - Earphone high

The depress to talk, squeeze, switch is wired in parallel with the mic using NC, normally closed, contacts to short the mic when not depressed and un-short the mic when depressed.

I trust this is useful to you.

Please don't ask me what depresses an HS-6, I'm not a psychiatrist.

If you need wire colors I'd need to take one apart.

Toodleoo!

Thanks Ron for the info...

All of the pin-out wiring is correct, and the switch passes the continuity test...

I was looking for information on the PCB level of the handset, such as the capacitor ratings and such... I could not tell what the couple of capacitors are rated for, since the writing on them is so small...

All of the resistors check out, and read their correct values... The mic element also checks out as well...

Looks like a really simple circuit to make the handset work, which leads me to the capacitors being bad... Hoping for a simple fix to get this thing going again...

Thanks again for the help!
