Wireless DMX
« on: January 02, 2011, 09:50:41 PM »

It seems to be only as an absolute last resort but I was just curious as to everyone's experience (if any) with a wireless set up.

How about I-phone users controlling a rig....is this very primitive controls (scenes etc).

for wireless dmx, you get what you pay for...cheap units are like cheap audio wireless...

as far as iphone control goes, well, there's VNC/remote desktop which will let you log into any computer running lighting software easily

also, grandMA and martin both have iphone remotes for their consoles

none of the iphone based aps are great for much other than focusing conventionals, but it takes one person out of the equation as the ld can run the desk from the stage

for any vnc/remote desktop capable console, you *could* run the whole show off an iphone/ipad, although it's still not the greatest way to do things
