Problem?  "Intern" had apparently been told not to touch the mix...

Sounds like the Nickleback show I had to sit though once. The lead vocal was clipping the input hard all night, and whomever was charged with standing at the FOH board never touched it the entire time.

I'm glad I was on the local crew and hadn't wasted money on it. Shame it had to happen in front of 6k people.

nickleback's live show has two scenes as far as audio goes:

1. effects on
2. effects off

they want a soundguy who will rock out at the console, be 'into' the show, have a 'young rock and roll' look and change between the two scenes at the right times

they really don't care too much what it sounds like, it's all about the lighting and pyro Neutral

Indeed, there's absolutely no reason to care what it sounds like when the songs suck out loud.

Harrumph.

Having been on local crew for most of the Nickleback shows here, I agree 100% with your comments.

G.W.A.R. is the only "band" that should be allowed to get away with this.  At least I know what I'm getting when I buy GWAR tickets. Smile

Eddies actually a pretty good sound guy though Smile

Well, my point is that a GWAR concert is really a different kind of experience, and fan appeal, than some guys singing and playing instruments.  I mean, if you had to take a deaf person to a concert, GWAR should be pretty high up on your list.  Perhaps Nickelback is looking for a new niche!

No way.  It's possible to have fun at a GWAR concert.
