The spiritual father of "The Wall of Sound" has died
Lee Brenkman:
Augustus Owsley-Stanley, aka "Bear" has died in a car crash in Australia.
The linked story doesn't mention anything of his audio guy period.
He was more famous as an "underground chemist" but I knew him better as someone who always wanted to try something new to make the band SOUND better.
He was also a world class curmudgeon ;)

Sad to say that this little radio obit is far superior to anything that I'm aware of that appeared in the media here in the USA, even in San Francisco. :(
