Gig Lighting-controlling from two different locations
« on: November 09, 2010, 02:58:12 PM »

The band I do sound for has two Par Can light sets that came with a footswitch each.  I typically link the two together at gigs and run one footswitch back to the board (I have a midi cable as long as the snake).  Is there a way to use a midi adaptor or splitter of some sort to run two footswitches?  I would run one at the board and have the opportunity to run one on stage.  I seem to have everyone at the local music store scratching there heads.

Hi:

Assuming the footswitch controller in question is actually sending out Midi data, one of these should do the trick for you:

This is the system I am using:

F416 16-pattern Chase Controller with 3-pedal foot switch.

I do not think the midi will work.  Any other ideas?
