What is the minimum operating distance for LAB horns? Can I use LABs for smaller dance floors where a max throw distance needed is 10m (33 feet)? Or is it better to use reflex boxes if high sound quality is desired. Will there be a lot of annoying air flow noise for dancers nearby?

I would like to use a horn because I got only 1 x 230V/10A (2300W) power circuit available for the whole PA. I think reflex boxes will need a bigger amp which might trip the breaker.

we just got done last night using labs at a hip hop club dance show. they sound great, and i think its a smaller distance that what you have. maybe 20ft deep on our dance floor. we've used these on multiple occasions in this place.

they are being powered with 650watts per driver in the lab (for now).

normally we run dbl 18 front loaded, but the labs are night and day difference in clearity of the sound as a whole.

If you can afford the space of the horns, the output will be greater per watt than a ported cabinet.

The size of the room makes no difference, the length of the sound waves reproduced by a ported or horn loaded cabinet are the same.

Ported cabinets may have more annoying air flow noise than large long horns, but with a decent duct length and size, air flow noise will not be perceived when music is playing.
