Thot of that, but nope.  This was all put together correctly.  I did it myself.

So now that we have all discussed this we had our first problem after 5yrs. Tech that I normally have help with stuff didn't put the pin in backwards tho... He turned the spigot 180 degress.

Blah. He got them out after a bit of work... But I can now relate. Ended up smashing my thumb with the hammer. Next set of truss' may be bolt togethers.

Razz We've used global truss for 7+ years regularly. No significant problems except when someone puts the spigots in backwards and then uses the hammer.... This can be very bad. Sad

Razz A $3 short handled steel hammer from harbor frieght goes in every toolbox with the spigots/pins. A pipe or other hard object will work if no hammer is around.

Razz A 2nd pin or short punch is good for tapping pins loose to dissasemble.

Confused We have also used simillar sized bolt together truss and global system is somewhat faster and lighter.

Crying or Very Sad My biggest complaint about the pin/spigot system is the banging noise from tapping them together/apart.

Global is GREAT stuff period!!!(much faster than bolt together) I don't see ANY valid complaints here.. YES,i agree banging the pins in and out can be rather noisy so put yer dam ear plugs in! Very Happy

The other issue I have with Global is its design.  All the stringers (the diagonal members) make it more difficult to hang moving lights.  Even Elation products sometimes are a challenge to hang on it.  And the Global trigger clamps I used the last time I had some truss didn't even fit correctly.  These were BRAND NEW and still in the bag, so they should have been perfect.  But they wouldn't even hang correctly on the truss, and only made minimal contact.  I never have issues with Thomas and ProBurgers, which is what I'll be using from now on.

Cant stand the stuff myself, I recommend interns or ear plugs and a hammer. Sell it and buy Tomcat. My 2 cents.
