logic audio lm12 wedge
« on: September 04, 2010, 10:13:14 AM »

hey all,

Had to use these the other day at a club in London.  Was very very impressed, for a passive 12" wedge these are great.

Vocals were excellent and clear, nice bass response, and consistant tone as volume increased.  I had to apply minimal eq to get this response as well.  I was mixing a Zimbabwean music festival with a combination of hard rock and african folk.

They did run out of steam a bit early, but that was to be expected as they are only passive and 12" (i'm used to using biamp 15" or 2x12", so a bit spoiled!).  The bands were really happy with them and I would happily use them again for light rock, folk, country and spoken word.

Oh and apparently they are pretty cheap too!

hope this helps

Those are good but I've less than whelmed by some of the other Logic wedges that I've come across, some of them have a very steep angle which forces you to have the speaker miles from the artist and then you have it blasting or it fires the sound at their kneecaps. I tend to find the smaller Logic kit always sounds better or is beter packaged than the larger boxes. G

Gordon, I think you will be refering to the Logic CM15s.  They do have a pretty steep angle, however this is rectified on the CM15s replacement, the LM15.  I love Logic wedges, they sound great and are bulit like tanks.  I currently have 6x LM15s and plan to buy more soon.

I have LM12s, love them. And with 600w/8ohm amps they go loud. When I can figure out my s/h phone, I'll post some internal pics... very chunky and heavy driver, only just fits front-to-back!

So, have anybody compared them with the D&B Max 12 that riders prefer?
