Renkus CF/CFX Modular Point Sources Array
« on: August 07, 2010, 05:36:14 PM »

I was doing some research and ran across the new source array on renkus website.
http://www.renkus-heinz.com/loudspeakers/series/current/cf-c fx/psla.html

Have any of you listened these or know pricing on them?

I couldn't find anything here on the forum about them.

Thanks guys

I listened to them in the demo room at infocomm. Can only say that they sounded quite nice, certainly worth considering for the appropriaye application.

Another vertical array, how original.  What's different here?

Only a single 10" low-mid, fairly low power handling, front loaded mid.  Looks like low-ish output, which would limit applications.

but the 9 dB more output and tighter vertical patterns per speaker would make up for it! Right? Rolling Eyes

I'd really be interested in doing a shootout with these, VRX, JFL, and (other that I'm missing?).  Seeing as this is the new craze it would be nice to hear what the differences actually are between these offerings.

It is what it is, it sounds very good, and there certainly is a market for the product. Whats different is that RH just filled a hole in their product line with a product that will be competitive with similar offerings from other manufacturers, without advertising hyperbole or outrageous performance claims. You'll notice they label it accurately as a "modular point source", and it is placed in a product category that is their "value" line of speakers for both install and portable use.
