I do a lot of smaller SOS gigs.  Bigger gigs I rent a truck but get most of my gigs done out of a honda element.  I fit a pair of K12 mains, k10 monitors (3), a small sub, 01v96, wireless, lights, and sometimes a drum kit in my little element.  I needed a bigger case to create a foh with enough room for 2 rack mount pieces of equipment across.  I built this removable shelf which stores in the k12 case when not in use.

Frost (I'm assuming that's what they call you and why your first name is in parentheses), that looks pretty sweet. I like the mini light board and the attachable shelf especially. However, I can envision one of the pop-up mixer cases with a 2U rack in front to mount the Digimaxes, to keep them wired up all the time and a bit more unified looking. It would get a bit heavier though.

How are the presonus pre-amps?  i have Behringers, they are ok but i don't like the outputs.

BTW:  im in Berwyn (chicago) and looking for a MY16AT for my )1v96v2

I think the presonus are great.  I use them more often with for recording supplemented by some Hardys for 24 track field recording than for live preamps.  but they are sturdy and sound solid.

Where's the laptop stand?  I'm addicted to Studio Manager I think... I don't leave home without it so to speak.

Silas, yes that would be sweet to have 2 racks in the front and honestly, Im not a huge fan of the gator pop up case... i would buy a road ready next time.  Ive considered building a custom rack but then weight becomes an issue.  Also, sometimes I bring the extra pres, often I dont.  If I did build it, I would most likely put 4 channels of wireless permanently racked.

Further suggestions are always welcome.

While having the rack spaces below the mixer is nice, it also gives you a heavy case.  Also your rack gives you a convenient work surface for your light board and other items.  

We have an 01V96 in the same Gator case as you.  It is stable when placed on top of a rack with the wheels hanging off the back.  I'm not sure it would be stable enough on top of your speaker case, but you might give it a try if you want to stack the presonus rack under the mixer.

A neat trick is to rack your wireless mics (or IEMs) in the same rack as the preamps.  Then you can use the ADAT lightpipe as a "mult" to connect everything between the rack and the mixer.

the other rack I often bring has 4 channels of wireless.  I generally patch those into 13-16 using the balanced 1/4" outs giving me 16 channels for small gigs so I dont need the extra preamps.  I like the idea of just patching lightpipe tho and might build that into another rack that goes to gigs that need more wireless.

Still wishing I could control my board with an ipad without needing to bring a laptop too...

I own four channels of John Hardy M1's and they fuck'n rock  . I wish I could afford 20 more

I've had a few PM's about these.  I bought a box of 5 or 6 chinese made stands and I use them for everything from CDJ's, laptops, small lighting desks/mixers.  They've saved my butt a few times when real estate is limited. I think I paid about $30 per stand.  I usually don't charge to rent them, but clients love that I have them available. They rent $10K of gear and are blown away by a stand that cost less then the tunnel tape I make them pay for.

Just google "DJ laptop stand" for the latest offerings.  I'd avoid the ones that fold out from being totally flat (they wobble and in general suck after a while) as well as the Odyssey one with the adjustable angle that I've seen 'adjust' downwards on their own onto a moving turnatble platter and tonearm.  Not cool.

I have a  db sub 05 but am looking into an rcf or ev 760.  All choices will be powered.
