In the situation you are using it in I would think that an LS9-16 loaded with a MY8-AE96S would work. This would give you 8 channels of AES i/o, 8 analog outputs (onboard) and 16 analog inputs (onboard). I would think that that would be more than enough i/o. For a console switcher that should be plenty, and you can still have your VOG, TB and iPod, CD player (whatever else) plugged in and routed at all times.

I am sure there are other products, but this is the first thing that came to my mind.

Good luck,

How about Yamaha DME24 or 64?

This is what we use. Awesome little piece of gear.

Along the lines of the LS9, even an 01V96 with an AES card in it would do what you want.

(I actually have an MY16-AE card that I can sell that has 16 AES ins and 16 AES outs.  If you want it, I will sell it cheap)

Thanks Don, we have a few Yamaha AES cards lying round the shop and in the back of consoles as well:)

Certainly using console DSP stock would be the quickest easiest way to go:)

What I'm really looking for though (and I think the first couple of posts may have helped me out) is a solution that can live in our drive racks:)

Cheers guys, I really appreciate all of your time and help!

I love the internet:)

Also, the DME24 may be the way to go since we already have cards.

Thanks AnttiR and Joseph:)

Hey Chris,

the DME24N is the better choice -if later you decide to go down the Dante Networked route

Cheers

The LM26 is linkable using either AES, or DANTE. So two of them would equal one DLP. Also there are four priorities for each channel, or one could simply mix the signals together.

Soundweb London will do the job, and if you wish, make the processor redundant.

Take a look at the Telos Axia analog line node and AES node (scroll down). Each box gives you 8 stereo in and 8 stereo out. Connect them together with a network switch and you can route any input to any output. If you want you can run a CAT5 to the stage and have whatever kind of output you want at the stage and route any input on the system to those outputs. The system can be expanded to thousands of I/O ports. All the connectors are RJ45 wired to the Studio Hub standard, so it is easy to get the right patch cables. I used this system in a monthly live broadcast for years with no issues. It is very easy to use once you grok the "sources and destinations" terminology.

Mac, that also looks like a good solution!

That system could actually be handy in a lot more ways than just purely a Matrix solution for drive..... I see quite a few possibilities there to incorporate our squawk system.....
