1/2 rack width EQ?
« on: May 15, 2010, 02:47:32 PM »

Hey folks,
Might have a need for a 1/2 rack width ( 1 space tall ) EQ unit coming up ...to pair up with another 1/2 rack width piece of gear in the rack and do some broader EQ - maybe a 15 or 9 band unit...parametric would work too.
I've never seen one and it's hard to do a web search by width, so I thought I'd ask this distinguished crew...any ideas come to mind?
Thanks!

You can still find clean used Symetrix SX201 EQs. They are nice little 1/2 RU 3-band parametrics but are no longer in production.

I'm also aware of the PreSonus EQ3B if you want something new, but I have no experience with that unit. I think they are actually 1/3 RU.

I LOVE the Symetrix SX201s I have.

They have two inputs, so you can use it line level or also as a mic preamp.

The EQ provides up to 30dB of cut.

It's not bad as a bass guitar preamp either.

If you don't need front-panel controls, there's also the Shure DFR11 and the Symetrix 322.
