Actually the issue is sloppy reply posts from FLAT VIEW users who simply post replies at the bottom.

Flat view for index, tree view for the topics.  It works more the threaded discussions on UseNet.

Zip ties are still "nearly this century."  The lost art is the application of lacing cord.

True enough.  But I'd feel really bad about cutting up someone's hard work when something breaks.  Zip ties are much easier to replace.

Further thoughts:  The pictured rack was built for the current Broadway run of "Fences" starring Denzel Washington.  It is the Mult Distro (hub for all i/o) and EQ Rack (2x Galileo plus a spare) all in one.  These are usually two separate racks so space was a little tight with all of the copper.  It had to be condensed to a single rack because ampland was being installed up on a jump in a very small space.

I only did the show build so it was imperative that the production crew be able to look at the back of that rack and have it just "make sense".  Inevitably something will be rerouted or added once on site so neatness and labeling are crucial.

The trouble with zip ties (or ty-raps) is that they tend to cut up your hands when you're working inside the rack.  No such problems with lacing twine.



This isn't my work, and when this picture was taken, it was still a work in progress.  Once all the wires are added, the releasable ty-raps will be removed, and more lacing twine added.
Whether using ty-raps or lacing twine, wire bundles can be a work of art.

That looks like an antenna splitter instead of a combiner in that rack?

The Sennheiser IEM combiners have a air vent in the front
