The trouble with zip ties (or ty-raps) is that they tend to cut up your hands when you're working inside the rack. No such problems with lacing twine.

Not if your using one of these.
Controlled tension and the cut end is retracted below the surface of the pawls (no cutting up your hand).
Anybody who would trim a nylon wire tie with a diagonal cutter needs to find another job.
