Michael,
You will find that a clear, concise and properly punctuated question or reply will be the key to a quick and fairly accurate response. I have no doubt that you are capable of formatting your replies properly, as illustrated above. However, not taking the time to properly present your question / response, or consider it a waste of time to do so would also indicate your lack in caring if I / we waste our time in an attempt to deciphere same.

Bennet is correct in his response as is quite often the case. I also suggest you look at the configuration of the amp and the wiring to the cabinets. Having a good number of 2450s in use I also recommend that if you bridge the amplifier you use the banana connectors for output, connected to the middle two (2) jacks (both red), and using the correct polarity. And finally note that the amplifier does not like to see less than a 4 ohm load when run in bridged mode. Refer to the users manual in all cases. Take it for what it's worth as I've only been working with sound for just over 45 years, have no major in english, and could be wrong.
I have received the correct answer, and it was not from this site.  2450's are not powerful enough.  It takes crown macro tech 5000.  That will get the job done.

Actually, I believe that's what Bennett said in the first reply that you received.  Well, he didn't say that the Crown "...will get the job done" but he did say that you were confused about the power need and pointed you in the direction to see for yourself.

The only question you did not get answered was the one regarding the recommended amp.

THe others parts were addressed.

ANd you have to remember that the 5000 will only give you 3dB more possible output.  And will be to powerful for the cabinet.  So you could risk damage if not used properly.

If you take the 1600 watts rating and double it, you have 3200 watts.  So the 2450 is only 1.2dB less than 3200 watts.

Niether the 1.2 or 3dB is going to "make or break" the gig.  You probably need more cabinets.

I wonder if the link on this page would be helpful?

I've had an rmx 1450 and 2450 they were great value piecewise  due to the rebates offered at the time but I didn't have much success running bass bins with the 2450. I just found it limp compared to crestCA9 or crown MA amps. decent sounding enough on monitors/ tops etc.

Looking at retiring. Local PA market has shrank to 2 guys with guitars and bose l1 compacts or expecting full line array and 16 movers on stage for $300... no middle left going back to event DJ stuff, half the work for twice the pay.

qsc 2450 in bridge mode on a eaw sb750 zf amp starting to clip red light when the kick is up close to good sound is the 2450 not putting out terue 2400? what amp do i need for these cabs?

My real world experience of the 2450 run bridge mode into a 4ohm load (EV X-Array XB - both drivers) is that it just wouldn't deliver what was claimed. The clip lights went on early and it just ran out of gas. Since swapping to Lab Gruppen fp6400s the difference is night and day. Though on paper less powerful in standard mode than a bridged 2450, they get SO much louder. They sound clean, clear, punchy and have headroom for days. Unlike the 2450.

I came to the conclusion that the 2450 would just not deliver what was claimed into that kind of load in the real world. I did not measure it - just went with the one that worked, when the 2450 clearly didn't.

And yes, I do know how to bridge an amplifier correctly.

The EV XB presents a load that is less than 4 ohms from 30Hz to 50Hz.  This will create problems with the RMX when run bridged.

Also, How were these being powered?
If the 2450 couldn't draw enough current or if the voltage was sagging or both then this only exacerbates the problems the RMX line has with a 4 ohm or lower, bridged load.

The Lab Gruppen's do well with subs but the Powersofts sound even better.

The QSCs ( and the Lab Gruppens) were fed UK 240volt mains from a 32amp supply.

I am sure that the QSCs would be perfectly happy bridged into an 8 ohm load. This is not something that I have tested. And yes, I do think it reasonable that the QSCs would not be happy running bridged into a nominal 4ohm load, they are, after all, a budget amplifier.

This was a friend's system that I was asked to troubleshoot. The Labs were a logical solution as it means that he is now compatible with somebody else in the area.

The Powersofts are indeed extremely good. I have heard nothing but good reports about their recent product lines.

I would also recommend FFA.

Again, let's step back and look at what's going on here.

The QSC RMX 2450 is a budget amplifier. The manufacturer comes right out and says that they do not recommend anyone operate it in bridged mode into a 4 ohm load. Yeah, it will work, but for this type of operation, you really need to get an RMX model with the "HD" suffix in the model number.

The Lab Gruppen FP6400 is much more powerful, and is a premium amplifier in a premium amplifier line.

I don't see how a 6400 watt, five-THOUSAND-and-something dollar amplifier being better at driving subwoofers than a 2450 watt, five-HUNDRED-and-something dollar amplifier would be an epiphany for anyone.

Rock on!

the ma5k advice is not without its problems, you could end up losing drivers. the bridging of the 2450 in to that sub was not a good idea. 2450 very shaky when bridged into difficult loads 4 and below. did you check to see if any of the low cut filters were engaged on the 2450? if engaged could have been the cause of your "could not get it close to good sound" without amplifier clipping.
