Highly, highly recommended.

At my theatre, we just showed "Heima" which follows the Icelandic band Sigur Ros as they do a fan tour of Iceland.  Visually, It was the most stunning film I have ever seen.

I also enjoyed Devil's Playground.  Jesus Camp and Hell House are two films about extreme religion in the US.

MOOG- about bob moog the man who invented the synthesizer as we know it. He talks about his connection with electronic circuitry and how he can hear the sound a circuit could produce just by feeling it.

We live in public- strange social experiment based on how connected the internet has made us all

Confessions of a superhero- follows the life of a guy who dresses up as superman everyday of his life

Helvetica- about the font helvetica, surprisingly interesting

Food inc.- about the food industry in america and how bad its gotten (This may make you not want to eat meat for awhile)

+1 for "Helvetica"

Other good docs include:

"Sketches of Frank Gehry"
About the nice-guy genius architect.
http://www.sonyclassics.com/sketchesoffrankgehry/

"Wordplay"
Crossword puzzle doc, featuring the NY Times crossword editor Will Shortz , with some seriously good - that is, seriously fast -  players.

"Elliot Carter: A Labyrinth of Time"
Enlightening glimpses of the  straightforward, age-defying Carter discussing and rehearsing his very non-straightforward, complex music.

"Examined Life"
Engaging philosophy doc by Athens native Astra Taylor. One-on-one interviews with philosophers/ponderers on the meaning of life. Or the lack thereof.
