any info on Shure possibly coming out with a new in ear monitor system.    Anyone know if this is true?

So Shure's site says "Now Available" - is anybody using these things yet?  Curious about real world use.

Thanks in advance,
Fig

I have used them a number of times Thom and I have to say they sound phenomenal. Every time I use them I am blown away by the sound quality, the stereo imaging and the great reception. I really didn't think that they could be a lot better than the other stuff I had been using but I was very impressed.

As far as the cue mode goes, it is nothing new, but it is a lot nicer in some ways than how you have to do the G2 packs. With the G2 stuff you have to setup a user bank and then program the individual freqs whereas with these packs you simply use the IR to sync the frequencies (which perhaps the G3/2000 series does...?). Whats nice though is you don't have a user bank of X amount of freqs, you simply have the number of channels that you sync'd. I believe it even sync's the high-boost (if used) as well which can be nice if some players use it and others don't. Speaking of the high boost, it sounds much better than the G2 high boost does as well.

I got a chance to check them out at Leno and they sound very good.
In about a week , I'll have my hands on four units to try on a tour.

Cheers,
John

We've got a pair of them in our rental inventory now, and probably more to come.  They're pretty nice - they do sound very good, and the packs seem very solid.

Think we are going to wait for the PSM 1000 if its true.  Would really like to be able to network and use wireless workbench for the ears and mics.

I really wonder if this is a true diversity design.

Also interesting to know what stereo decoder they are gonna use.
They are pratically all in phase out know ...

With true diversity you gain the diversity protection but also you gain 3 dB on S/N ...
