Building a Pro IMAG rig
« on: November 17, 2009, 12:49:30 am »

With the big move to digital (both SD and HD), I've seen a ton of used Sony D-30s and D-35s on ebay lately, complete with CCUs and cabiling. Now considering that a concert Flypack IMAG rig is more forgiving than a broadcast solution, is it worth looking at picking up some of this analog gear that could eventually be upgraded with SDI option cards to get started? I dont think atleast in this market, that anything resembling a Hi-Def package is necessary, nor does anybody hear rarely ask for a 16:9 solution, so the component 4:3 systems seem to be a viable starting solution...

thoughts?
