VTC Line Array
« on: October 24, 2009, 01:47:37 AM »

I am a student and my school is getting a system of VTC Line Array which consists of 18 VTC EL210 speakers and 8 VTC ELS210 subs. Has anyone ever used these speakers before? Any horror stories we should watch out for?

Use the SEARCH function.  There have been several reviews and discussions about the VTC products.  The weak link seems to be the subs, but I believe hearing there are changes being made to them.

Have fun, good luck.

Wow, a 33x33x28" cube. Just when I thought the VTC wedge was the worst they could do form factor wise, they've one upped themselves!

Pretty sure that makes a rectangular prism.

Nonetheless an annoying shape.

Hmmm... 140dB from a single 18? I mean, come on... Really? I'm sure Tom has some good designs, but how much can you really get out of a single 18? Rolling Eyes

half space?

D&B who you support pretty heavily print specs that are pretty hard to believe but I guess you have to hear it before you can knock it

I agree with Dan...the basic JBL SRX718S is rated 130dB peak full space, so 136dB half space, and it's a normal front loaded box. Convert that to a horn/tapped horn and I'm sure 140dB is no problem at all.
