How do you keep that rig from flipping over in the wind?

The sub weighs 160 or so with the casters, plus the bottom pole is 3/16" steel, so all that is a beefy counterweight.

It looks cool, but I'd be afraid of it outdoors by itself.

Not afraid of it falling at all.  Have used it dozens of times without any issues.  I'm a big guy and I cannot slam it hard enough without injury to even come close to deflecting the top enough to become tipsy.

Quote:

Do you use the drill to crank it up and down, looks like no room for a handle.

Yep, I use the drill, no room for the handle.

Got a place for me to park my 40' bus, I might even look into taking a few people along with me for the event. Gives me a place to hang out and sleep, cheaper than a no tell hotel!

I may be able to throw in a good sized EV QRX rig and an EV Xarray rig.

Hey all, sorry this reply took so long.  Anyway this is going to be long so I'll just split it up:

Tom -

I'm all for playing around with some dual PA set ups - perhaps if someone else in the area has an SRX rig we could run it side by side with yours.  Seems to me like if one is going to go dual PA it's probably best to stick with the same brand at very least.

Outdoors also sounds like a good idea, although we'd need to do it quickly before it gets nasty out.  I don't want to have to wait until spring!

Also it was great to meet you too - I won't have a chance to take the amp out on a gig until Friday but just from playing with it in system architect I'm already very pleased with my decision to go the XTi route.  I ordered some rack goodies from Audiopile that came in today (rear rack ears, blank pannels, etc) and it's looking great - but that's for another thread once it's done.

John Horvath -

If you're willing to host it and have such a great outside place in which to host it that would be awesome.  What are some dates that you'd be free and willing to do it?

John Halliburton -

I'd love to hear how the Growlers sound compared to some other boxes - I only heard them in Jeff's shop so it will be great to have some sort of baseline.

Dan -

That would be awesome; I'd really like to hear how the EV boxes stack up against some other offerings out there.

Maybe someone wishing for some measurement creds could actually detail the differences between the SRX and the QRX rig.
This seems to be one of those never ending back and forths on the LAB.
